Since 2009, Joint Research has been the research agency within OLVG's Ortopedics department. Joint Research facilitates and supports the development and implementation of scientific research which takes place within its own unit. Joint Research also has an executive and coordinating role outside OLVG. For research Joint Research is collaborating with various hospitals within and outside the Netherlands. In addition, Joint Research guarantees the quality of scientific research. Joint Research has enthusiastic employees, consisting of research coordinators, researchers and research assistants. Besides the permanent employees, Joint Research is also regularly strengthened by students to carry out a scientific internship. The research team focuses on various joints, such as the hip, knee, wrist, spine, shoulder and elbow. Research is also performed on infections and the rare condition HME-MO in children.
